2025 CTE TEKS Review: Chapter 127, Subchapters B, F, J, N, and O
The State Board of Education (SBOE) has authority for the review and adoption of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for each subject of the required curriculum. Career and technical education (CTE) instruction provides content aligned with challenging academic standards, industry-relevant technical knowledge, and college and career readiness skills for students to further their education and succeed in current and emerging professions.
Through the 2023–2024 refresh of CTE programs of study, an advisory committee recommended new courses needed in Texas to support student preparation for high-wage, in-demand, high-skill occupations. At the June 2024 SBOE meeting, the SBOE authorized 7mÊÓƵ to work with Region 4 Education Service Center (ESC), Texas State Technical College (TSTC), and Collin College to facilitate the development of a set of recommended new courses and revision of a set of state-approved innovative courses. This page provides information regarding the review and revision of CTE TEKS completed through this process.
