Being involved in your child’s education can take many forms. 7mƵ welcomes the participation and engagement of parents and families in supporting the education of Texas children.

Social Studies TEKS Review 2025

The State Board of Education (SBOE) is now for Social Studies Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) review work groups. Applications are submitted to SBOE members for review throughout the revision process. 

Parent and Family Engagement

  • 7mƵ offers opportunities – such as working groups, surveys, and focus groups – to provide input. to be contacted with relevant opportunities. 

  • Parent Support Program

    The Parent Support Program provides Texas families clear guidance on how public schools work, what steps to take when concerns arise, and how to navigate available options if issues are not resolved.

  • Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) Review and Revision

    For each TEKS subject-area review, the SBOE approves educators, parents, and others to serve on TEKS review work groups. 

  • Resolve Complaints and Concerns

    Parents or students with a concern about a violation of students' rights or actions taken in a Texas public school are encouraged to file an online complaint with 7mƵ.
