Please Note
The EMAT system closes for updates once per year, typically around April, and reopens in May for districts to place orders for the upcoming school year. It is highly recommended that school systems complete the during the EMAT closure.
Instructional materials previously adopted and newly approved by the State Board of Education (SBOE), as well as non-adopted or non-approved instructional materials, can be purchased with designated instructional materials funds in EMAT, the state鈥檚 online ordering system.
Local school systems can procure instructional materials through a requisition for state-adopted and/or SBOE-approved instructional materials or through disbursements for materials ordered directly from the vendor.
Before procuring materials through EMAT, school systems must complete the following prerequisites:
- Complete the (formerly known as the TEKS Certification Process).

- Obtain EMAT Ordering Access by requesting the EMAT application in .
- Ensure all contacts and addresses in EMAT are updated.
