2026-2027 Texas Mobile STEM Laboratory Program Grant

The 7m视频 (7m视频) is seeking to continue providing school systems in Texas with Mobile STEM Laboratories that can be reserved by districts across the state of Texas for up to one week through an application process. The Texas Mobile STEM Laboratories provide kindergarten鈥揼rade 8 students with pre-approved STEM activities aligned with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) that integrate content knowledge, the engineering design process, and technology/equipment that can be transported to all regions of Texas. The 7m视频 defines STEM education as a method of hands-on teaching and learning where students apply academic content by creatively solving real-world problems with innovative design-based thinking to prepare students for future career opportunities. The eight state-owned Texas Mobile STEM Laboratories contain technology related to instruction, including a laptop, presentation monitors, a document camera, and amplification equipment. In addition, each lab is stocked with student iPads for survey data collection and non-consumable equipment and materials needed to complete the engineering design challenges.  The grantee鈥檚 Service Area Manager will stock the laboratory with consumables for the approved Texas Mobile STEM Lab activities. For the purpose of this grant, Texas is divided into eight service areas, with one mobile laboratory serving each area. The service areas are a combination of education service areas: Service Area 1鈥擱egions 1 and 2, Service Area 2鈥擱egions 3-5, Service Area 3鈥擱egions 6, 7, and 12 , Service Area 4鈥擱egions 8 and 10, Service Area 5鈥擱egions 9 and 11, Service Area 6鈥擱egions 13 and 20, Service Area 7鈥擱egions 14, 16, and 17, Service Area 8鈥擱egions 15, 18, and 19. Each Mobile STEM Laboratory will annually serve at least 30 campuses within the grantee鈥檚 assigned service area(s), giving balanced opportunity to each region. All 20 education service regions will be served each year. All public school systems serving kindergarten鈥揼rade 8 students are eligible to apply for a mobile STEM lab visit. In addition, the Mobile STEM Laboratories will offer community STEM events in each service  across Texas and professional development opportunities within their service area.
